About Me

Tinker Toy Computer at MIT

For over 10 years, I’ve been building websites , teaching others to build websites and consulting for customers who want to create passive income streams using the Internet. My primary website building tool is The Thesis Theme for WordPress. It’s a one-of-a kind, incredibly flexible theme that I cannot recommend highly enough.

I designed and am webmaster for The Moments Count Journal which I run along with my partner, Brooke Leigh Sheldon.

You can visit a sampling of other sites I’ve built, along with some of the sites built by my students here.

My favorite toys as a child were always toys that transformed into something else. But before actual Transformers had been invented I spent my time with Erector sets, Lincoln Logs, chemistry sets, Tinker Toys and such. My love of nurturing, fostering, constructing, creating and generally muscling change has never left me and I expect it never will. Life is a learning curve; one big, joyous, tremendous leap upward along a path that is only ever partially known.

My formal education (BA in Theater and a really nifty brass medal from the Kennedy Center) left me comfortable laughing at my foibles, talking loudly in public and trying anything!

My next career in logistics for a major medical laboratory gave me leadership skills, process management skills, a certification in Supply Chain Logistics (far more useful and interesting than it sounds!), another one in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, a really great project experience with the RAND Corporation and a tremendous lot of wonderful friends and mentors.

When I jumped off the cliff of the safely salaried I dabbled in a variety of places finding, ultimately, that this journey is far less about what I am doing than what I am learning from all of you and how I am loving the people and places I find along the way.

It’s a good life. It’s a genuinely fascinating conversation if you let yourself participate. After all….
